The deadline for UpRising’s latest leadership programmes is nearing – and young people have been encouraged to sign themselves up in the coming days.

The programmes, aimed at those aged 18-25, are made up of fortnightly skills, knowledge and campaign sessions where participants will engage with and learn from current leaders from a wide range of sectors.

It is aimed at those from Luton and Bedford, and with only a few places left, young people have been encouraged to get in touch.

Through the programme, participants will have extensive opportunities to develop their confidence, knowledge, skills, networks, social mindedness and welbeing, gaining a wealth of experience that can be used on CV’s, applications and interviews.

In the photo you can see Gavin Shuker MP with local young people at a Community Question Time that took place at Stockwood Park Academy three years ago.

“We are on the look-out for the next gang of green heroes to join our first Environmental Leadership programme in Bedfordshire,” read an UpRising statement.

“We connect you with the UK’s top environmental change-makers, to gain the leadership know-how and transform the world around you.

“It’s a free, part-time and nine-months and is all designed to fit around your work, study or other commitments.”
