People of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to share food and good company as Luton’s Big Iftar returns on Friday 8 April.
The celebratory event, which runs during the month of Ramadhan, will take place in St. George’s Square.
Inspire FM, together with a range of local partners, bring you this annual get together which ends with a communal sunset meal to break the daily fast.
Tickets have now been released and can be booked here.
Inspire FM Station Operations Manager Mohammed Tariq said: “The Big Iftar presents an opportunity for people from different backgrounds and cultures to share a meal and learn from another.
“Luton is such a special place to live and one of the reasons is that our communities respect one another.
“We’d love for you to join us, so please do ensure you book your tickets when they become available.”
The Big Iftar event partners include Luton Council, Bedfordshire Police, and Chaul End Children’s Centre. Luton Foodbank is the chosen charity.
The event is supported by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation as well as Optimized Body & Mind.
As well as this, we are working with Discover Islam Luton on the Fastathon initiative, where people are encouraged to fast for the day and donate to Luton Foodbank. All participating are invited to break their fast in St George’s Square.
In addition, young people from schools all over Luton will receive their prizes for the Luton is Home photography competition.
At the event, a range of local individuals and organisations will also be recognised for their efforts through the Making an Impact awards.
