Written by on May 8, 2019

People of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to eat together as the Big Iftar Luton returns for the sixth year.

The celebratory event, which runs during the Muslim holy month of Ramadhan, will take place in St. George’s Square on Friday 17 May.

Inspire FM, together with Luton Borough Council and Bedfordshire Police, bring to you this annual get together which ends with a communal sunset meal to break the daily fast.

Inspire FM Station Operations Manager Mohammed Tariq said: “The Big Iftar Luton presents an opportunity for people from different backgrounds and cultures to share a meal and learn from each another.

“Ramadhan is such a special time for so many people in our town. It is about, amongst other things, bringing out the best from one another.

“Luton is such a special place to live and one of the reasons is that our communities respect one another. Events like the Big Iftar Luton make me proud to be a Lutonian.”

There will be free activities such as creating a mural, face painting, henna, football hot shots, singing, interactive quiz, family entertainment and fun for all.

Other key partners include The Mall, Luton Culture, Chaul End Children’s Nursery and Luton Foodbank.

The event is also supported by Luton Town Football Club and London Luton Airport.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite – bit.ly/BIGIFTARLUTON

The next release is at 12 pm on Thursday 9th May.
