CONTINUE TO MAKE TIME FOR THE QUR’AN
Written by Inspire FM Newsdesk on May 16, 2022
Learning the Qur’an is a very important act in Islam which brings invaluable rewards and we should make time for the Qur’an.
With Ramadhan over, we shouldn’t stop reciting and reflecting on the Qur’an. Make time for the Qur’an as often as you can.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites a letter from Allah’s Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.”
THE QUR’AN IS A GUIDE
The Qur’an has the words of Allah and the source of guidance to all of Mankind. Learning the Qur’an will help us make the right decisions.
The Qur’an states “This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah.”

RECITING THE QUR’AN BRINGS MANY BENEFITS
We can gain great rewards for reciting the Qur’an.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “If anyone prays at night reciting regularly ten verses, he will not be recorded among the negligent; if anyone prays at night and recites a hundred verses, he will be recorded among those who are obedient to Allah; and if anyone prays at night reciting one thousand verses, he will be recorded among those who receive huge rewards.”

THE QUR’AN CAN INTERCEDE US ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Read the Qur’an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection.”
LEARNING THE QUR’AN RAISES OUR STATUS
The best of those in the eyes of Allah, are those who learn the Qur’an, excel in it, and then teach it to others. This is a practice that the sahaba had implemented.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”

THE QUR’AN PURIFIES THE HEART & SOUL
When Muslims recite the Qur’an with understanding, it purifies the heart from sins and relieves the souls from pressure.
“He has succeeded who purifies it, And he has failed who instils it [with corruption].”

IT TEACHES US ABOUT THE HEREAFTER
The life we live now is only temporary, eventually, we all pass away. The Qur’an teaches us about death and the eternal life after death.
THE ANGELS WILL BE WITH US FOR RECITING
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The one who is proficient with the Qur’an will be with the noble and righteous angels, and the one who reads it and stumbles over it, finding it difficult, will have two rewards.”

TEACHING THE QUR’AN HAS BIG REWARDS
Islam assigns great significance in teaching the Qur’an to children.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “If anyone recites the Qur’an and acts according to its content, on the Day of Judgement his parents will be given to wear a crown whose light is better than the light of the sun in the dwellings of this world if it were among you. So what do you think of him who acts according to this?”
