‘LUTON IS HOME’ 2023 PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

LUTON IS HOME


The ‘LUTON IS HOME’ schools photography competition encourages young people to showcase what Luton means to them.

Young people aged 11 – 16 years can use a smartphone or camera to capture an image they feel represents Luton.

Participants who create the winning entries will be presented with prizes at The Big Iftar Luton on Friday 31 March at St George’s Square.

NOTES FOR PARTICIPANTS

  • Be creative as possible
  • The photograph must be captured by you with a smartphone or camera
  • No faces should be recognisable
  • If you’re participating through your school, send your entry to your school’s appointed teacher by 5pm on Friday 10 March
  • Winning entries will be invited to The Big Iftar Luton on Friday 31 March at St. George’s Square.
  • Some entries will be posted on the Inspire FM website and social media channels with the name and school of the photographer

NOTES FOR TEACHERS

  • Teachers can register their schools to take part in this competition by getting in touch via futures@inspirefm.org
  • The deadline for pupils to submit entries to their school’s appointed teacher is Friday 10 March March at 5pm
  • The teacher will be responsible for shortlisting the top 10 entries, which they should send to Inspire FM (via the email above) by Wednesday 15 March
  • The winning entries will be chosen by the team at Inspire FM and communicated to the school by Wednesday 22 March
  • Please remember when submitting the entries to Inspire FM to supply the teacher’s contact details as well as the pupil’s name so we can give acknowledgement
  • Some entries will be posted on the Inspire FM website and social media channels with the name and school of the photographer

THE BIG IFTAR LUTON


Inspire FM, together with Luton Council, Bedfordshire Police and Chaul End Nursery bring this annual community get-together during the month of Ramadhan which ends with a communal sunset meal to break the daily fast.

People of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to share food and good company right in the centre of the town. The evening also includes children’s activities, stalls and speeches.

A range of local individuals and organisations will also be recognised for their efforts through the Making an Impact awards.
