Students in Luton have received excellent GCSE results today with the number of top grades rising despite tougher exams.

Inspire FM visited four Luton high schools this morning including Denbigh High School, Challney High School for Girls and Challney High School for Boys which are all run by the Chiltern Learning Academy. Inspire FM also visited The Chalk Hills Academy which is run by The Shared Learning Trust to speak to students and teachers about the results.

Students at Challney High School for Girls were “delighted” and there were tears of joy as the result envelopes were opened.

Denbigh High School student, Zakaria, was surprised to have done a lot better than expected and looks forward to attending Berkhamsted School next month.

Many students will be going onto college in September with some having hopes of attending top universities such as Oxford after their A-Levels.

Stockwood Park Academy Principal Richard Found said: “Today’s results are really positive. Once again we see students achieving a top grade in their subjects, and many who have made considerable progress in their time here.”

Adrian Rogers, Chief Executive of the Chiltern Learning Trust, which manages four high schools in Luton said: “Results have gone up and we’re really proud of that.” He added, “Staff and parents put in a lot of effort to help students here achieve their best and it’s great to see all that has paid off with the results we’ve seen today.”

Inspire FM would like to congratulate all students on their results and wishes them a successful future.
