LUTON STUDENTS CELEBRATE RECORD-BREAKING GCSE RESULTS

Students in Luton have received outstanding GCSE results today from teacher assessments.

The government cancelled exams this year due to coronavirus and replaced them with Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs).

Mumin Hamayun, Head of School at Stockwood Park Academy, said: “It has been a challenge but it has allowed us to work in different ways and demonstrate resilience.”

Students at Challney High School for Girls were “ecstatic” and there were cheers and smiles as the result envelopes were opened.

denbigh high school students and teachersDenbigh High School student, Waqar, was ‘nervous’ this morning but after receiving his results was ‘really happy’.

He added that he was very grateful for all the help and support from the teachers at Denbigh High School.

Harris, who’s a student at Putteridge High School, received six grade 9s and three grade 8s. He was ‘immensely proud’ and ‘blown away’ with his results.

Chalk Hills Academy student, Angelina, said: “I’m very happy with my results especially after a stressful year.”

Challney High School for Boys headteacher Daniel Connor said: “The students have shown incredible resilience and worked incredibly hard”.

Mr Connor added: “The boys have received excellent results and they deserve it”.

Many students will be going onto college in September with ambitions to go into engineering, medicine, and law.
