LUTON COMMUNITY CELEBRATES EID TOGETHER AT INSPIRE EID FESTIVAL
Written by Inspire FM on July 29, 2021
Thousands of smiles were created last week for the annual Inspire Eid community celebrations.
The two-day festival took place on 20 and 21 July and featured funfair rides, free family activities, stage performances and international food.
And in keeping with the pledge from organisers Inspire FM to keep the event affordable for all, all funfair rides remained at £1.
“Inspire Eid bought the community together once again to celebrate Eid and we were so pleased to be able to do this after the difficulties of the past 17 months,” said Mohammed Tariq, Station Operations Manager for Inspire FM, a local community radio station.
“It was amazing seeing the smiles from the families enjoying the rides, food and free activities. With Covid-19 having impacted upon so many, we wanted to give the town an event to come together, something we haven’t been able to do since the beginning of the pandemic.”
He added: “Making the day affordable is an important aspect of Inspire Eid and is one of our key considerations when running the event.”
Families from all over the town came to Lewsey Park to join in the celebrations which are a part of the major Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha.
As in previous years, complementary funfair ride tickets were given to local charity Friends of Bright Eyes which supports children with disabilities.
Mohammed Yasir, Project Manager for Friends of Bright Eyes, said: “The families we support were thrilled to have been able to attend the event and have Eid made extra special for the children.
“We would like to thank Inspire FM for organising this community event and making it open to everyone.”
Inspire FM would like to thank its sponsors for the Inspire Eid festival Esquire Estate Agents, Delicious Desserts, M&K Solicitors, Tops Pizza, AA Carpets and Furniture, Liberty Law Solicitors, and Luton Council.
