We at Inspire FM have made clear from the outset that the purpose of Inspire Eid was to bring the community together to celebrate Eid.

Importantly, however, we wanted it to be inclusive so that all families can come along and not have to worry about the cost of having fun.

In the past, we don’t always feel these kinds of events have put the community’s needs first.

Our response was simple; every ride,….. for every man, woman and child…. will be just one pound.

And what’s more, working with Crisis Aid, we expect a sizeable amount raised from this event to help the charity with their work. A percentage of that amount will be spent on work locally.

To be clear, like everything Inspire FM does, this is a not-for-profit venture.

In addition, the purpose of the Every Child Smiles initiative is to underline the work that we do with Luton Foodbank and school family workers.

As a result of our very generous listeners, who donated over £2,000 last week, there will be many children able to benefit from free rides on the day.

We have been promoting the event for several weeks, including through banners put up in locations around our town.

We were disappointed to see banners promoting a rival event hung up at these locations in recent days. In some cases, these banners have been placed directly next to ours.

In order to avoid fitna and create further confusion for people in our town, Inspire FM have removed our banners at these locations.

Inspire FM wish to reiterate that we remain committed to our community and hope that you can join us for Eid on 4th & 5th June (or 6th) in Lewsey Park.
