INSPIRE EID: HELPING GREAT CAUSES
Written by Inspire FM on June 13, 2019
A big thank you to each and every one of you. With your support, we were able to make Eid memorable for so many in our town.
The whole ethos of Inspire Eid was to ensure we created something special that everyone was able to be a part of.
It was, after all, an event led by people to serve those less fortunate in the town.
We asked you to join us, be a part of the event by volunteering your time and showing your support to the causes we were supporting on the day.
And you, our generous-hearted listeners, didn’t disappoint.
With your donations, our charity partner Crisis Aid raised thousands to help with their efforts around the globe.
However, it didn’t stop just there.
The Every Child Smiles initiative ensured that deserving families from our town were able to benefit from free rides.
We were also pleased to be joined by friends from the Blood Donation service, Cancer Research’s Race for Life and the Luton Foodbank.
“We were delighted to see the response from the community to the Inspire Eid initiative,” said Inspire FM Station Operations Manager Mohammed Tariq.
“Many people approached us and said that this event was a long time coming and something that the community deserves.
“We wanted this to be a community event and were very pleased to see so many people join us.”
Tariq added: “It was pleasing to have charitable causes represented on the day. This is an important part of what we wanted to achieve for the event.”
In the photograph, you will see Tariq and members of the Inspire Eid organising committee along with Simon Linnett and Sarah Amexheta, from the Luton & Dunstable Hospital Helipad Appeal.
