INSPIRE EID: GENEROUS INSPIRE FM LISTENERS DONATE THOUSANDS FOR LOCAL CHILDREN

Generous-hearted people from Luton have donated over £2,000 to make Eid special for deserving children from our town.

The Inspire Eid family extravaganza will take place next week (4-5 June or 5-6 June) in Lewsey Park with a pledge from organisers Inspire FM that no one pays more than one pound for a funfair ride or activity.

That’s right… just one pound….

However, thanks to the generosity of listeners who have donated towards free rides, as well as charity partners for the event Crisis Aid, hundreds of children will have an Eid to remember.

“The response from people from our community to the Every Child Smiles initiative has been immense,” said Inspire FM Station Operations Manager Mohammed Tariq.

“We have been working with family workers in our schools to identify families that will receive vouchers for free rides that will make the day extra special.

“In addition, we know of others, including refugee families, as well as those who use the Luton Foodbank, who will be joining us on the day.”

Tariq added: “We are pleased to be working with a well-respected charity in Crisis Aid, who do a lot of good work for causes around the world, as well as local.”

Inspire FM have a long-standing commitment towards charitable initiatives in our town.

Inspire Eid is a result of a community need to have an Eid event on the day of Eid which families can enjoy without worrying too much about the cost of the experience.

“We wanted to run a community-led event that brings together families and friends on the day of Eid,” added Tariq.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support there is behind this concept. It is simple; we want the day to be affordable for all so everyone can enjoy a great day out.

“Every Child Smiles is part of our work in ensuring that families, and in particular children, do not miss out.”
