Free food and drink were on offer in St. George’s Square, Luton on Sunday 29 December as part of Inspire FM’s ‘Be A Good Neighbour’ campaign.

The event was organised by Inspire FM in partnership with the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), Islamic Society of Britain and D&G Amusements with the aim of promoting being good neighbours.

Hundreds of people enjoyed free food such as samosas, hot drinks and rides which were all £1 per person just for the day.

Tow teenagers volunteering and serving free foodThe event also included an interactive quiz, which gave winners a goody bag including a free ride token, and there were free roses being handed out too.

Islam teaches Muslims to be kind to their neighbours and ensure they do not go hungry.

Mohammed Tariq, Station Operations Manager at Inspire FM, said: “The campaign ‘Be A Good Neighbour’ was all about acting upon the teachings of Islam.”

“We were thrilled to see so many people from the community enjoying the food and learning about how we should treat our neighbours.”

One attendee said: “It’s great to see something like this in Luton.”

The food was kindly donated by listeners of Inspire FM and local takeaways including Karam Express, Gio’s Pizza, Tops Pizza, Dallow Karahi, New Ambala, Oodles Chinese and Tasty’s Peri Peri
