Written by on October 3, 2022

Lutonians raised funds for over 500 food parcels for those in need in the town.

The ‘Let’s Feed Luton Together’ campaign, led by Inspire FM and working with Discover Islam and Human Appeal, saw local individuals and businesses come together to raise £13,307 for long-standing charity partner Luton Foodbank.

Human Appeal, one of Inspire FM’s key charity partners, funded 50% of the fundraising target which was exceeded.

Salma Khan, Project Manager at Luton Foodbank, said: “We are so grateful to the Luton community for their support.

“The cost-of-living crisis is set to drive even more people into financial difficulty. No one should have to worry about choosing between skipping meals and heating their homes. This support will help ensure those in need do not go hungry.”

Inspire FM’s Station Operations Manager, Mohammed Tariq, said: “Luton has once again come together to support a very important cause. We are blessed to have a caring and generous community and I would like to thank all those who supported the campaign.”

Several local businesses and organisations came together to fund family food parcels. Inspire FM and Luton Foodbank would like to thank them for their support. They included: Quality Carpets and Furniture, iStruct Consultants, Esquire Estate Agents, Bartham Group, VEO Logistics, Aegis Training, M&K Solicitors, Autohaus, Nadeem Plaza, iCare, UKIM, Coversure, AA Carpets and Furniture and Tops Pizza.
